“This artwork is inspired by the vibrant rhythms of our neighborhood, nestled at the mouth of the Fraser River. It captures the magic woven by nature and community, where birds—Robins, Wrens, Hummingbirds, and Swallows—bring colour and song, connecting generations through shared experiences. At its center, the Sun and the circle of life symbolize unity and renewal, echoing traditional Musqueam values. Circles, a powerful motif in Musqueam culture, represent the continuity of stories, lineage, and teachings. Through this piece, I honour the birds, the land, and the people—each a vital thread in the tapestry of life, celebrating
