Kelly Cannell created this stunning butterfly sculpture for Highline Metrotown residential development. It rises over 14.5 feet overlooking a sidewalk rain garden. It includes a custom V-carved anodized butterfly which rests delicately atop a 3′ polished mirrored stainless steel dew drop. The dew drop itself is seamlessly cradled within three arched polished mirrored stainless steel blades of grass.

For spectacular nighttime viewing, Reflection is illuminated with blue spotlights creating an elegant glow within the blades and generating brilliant reflections on the underside of the butterfly and dew drop.

At a lower elevation three polished mirrored stainless steel dew drops hover slightly off the rain garden on a bases of concentric circles of blue LED dew drops mimicking the subtle splashes.

We collaborated closely with Kelly and Thind Properties to fabricate and install this piece from inspiration to realization.
