Projects > Public and Private Art > Cycle of Life by Kelly Cannell
Kelly created these beautiful sphere sculptures, now installed in the wetlands area of the leləm̓ development. She created the artwork to reflect the “Musqueam Through Time: Past, Present, Future” theme.
The three spheres, each with intricate traditional Coast Salish art elements, represent local animals and glow with different colours: salamander in red, frog in green, and salmon in blue.
Kelly masterfully fulfilled the challenge to “underline leləm̓’s sense of place and assist with storytelling, while creating an engaging landscape for residents and visitors alike.”
We assisted with this project tackling the polishing and logistics of the spheres. We were also responsible for the design, fabrication and installation of the mounting post and LED domed systems. And finally we delivered and installed the completed artwork in its new wetland home.
